Benefits of exercise on diabetes
When people are talking about diabetes management, regular exercise is a must in the planning. Regular exercising is part of healthy life style that we cannot do without. Exercising doesn’t just make you more fit or better body shape, but it also make you feeling more spirit. People who don’t exercise have high risk of getting many kinds of disease or obesity problem. Obesity is major factor contributing to diabetes. Hence, diabetics should exercise regularly to control their weight.

To fight with type 2 diabetes, we must first control our body weight. Hence, regular exercises will help us burn some of the fat and carbohydrates from the food we eat. This will indirectly reduce the body’s insulin requirements. Some experts also believe that regular exercises will help to improve our body to be more sensitive to the insulin produced.

Some type 2 diabetes causes is not due to the amount of insulin produced but it is due to the insensitive of body cells to the insulin. This makes the insulin cannot function well to help body to turn glucose into energy. So, improving body cell’s sensitivity through exercising is a natural way of controlling diabetes condition. In addition, exercising is an activity that we can control. It is not like a body cell’s sensitivity that we cannot control. That is why to reduce our body glucose level, exercising is indispensable.

If the sensitivity of body cells has improved, the glucose can be turned into energy for exercising effectively. This means that our body can now control the blood glucose level effectively. At the same time, if we control our diet by eating low glycemic index food, the input of glucose to the body will be less. Hence, the glucose level will go down also. With this, diabetics patients may stop their medication and change to controlling diabetes naturally.

For those who has diabetes, normally may also suffer from high blood pressure or heart related disease. Through exercising, the body will also use up the excessive fats and reduce the cholesterol level in the blood stream. This will also certainly improve the heart condition and normalize the blood pressure also.

Exercising can improve blood circulation, especially in the arms and legs areas. This is always where diabetics suffer. So, exercising will also help to reduce this condition. Other than that, exercising will help us release the stress also. Stress can raise our blood glucose levels. So, if our stress is relieved, this will also certainly avoid the blood sugar level raise again.

What are the recommended exercises? I would recommend diabetics to go for cardiovascular and aerobic exercises. Walking fast, swimming, cycling, yoga, etc are some of good exercises for diabetics to do. However, before exercising, it is important for diabetics to ensure the safety including appropriate fitting sports wear, foot wear, etc. This is to prevent diabetics from getting injured during exercising.

Lastly, the benefits of exercise on diabetes can also help improve our quality of life and relax our mind after the busy working life.
